Learn about me....
Alright let me start my blogging adventure with telling you about me....
1) I don't know how to blog so bare with me, this may not be very good.
2) I am a type one diabetic, I was diagnosed when I was two years old in September of 1997
3) I was also diagnosed with celiac (gluten intolerance) or commonly known as an allergy to wheat. in September of 2013.
4) I have been in DKA (Diabetic Ketone Acidosis) over 23 times in the last 5 years.
5) Because of how often I was hospitalized I ended up dropping out of high school. (I am finishing it now)
6) I don't have an endocrinologist, it's not a money problem.. i just live in a town that has a population of under 8000 people. I don't have an endo available to me.
7) I started using an insulin pump June 2014 and I haven't been in DKA or even really had a high blood sugar since i started pumping.
8) I am a proud Canadian so i read my blood sugars mmol/L
9) My insulin carb ratio is 1:13 in the mornings till supper and for supper it is 1:12.
10) My mom is a personal trainer/ zumba instructor/ and yoga instructor. I do love yoga and zumba but I've never been good in a gym. I'm better in group classes.
11) I used to run track and field, cross country, and mini marathons but that was before i went threw the hospitalizations and I never really got back to it.
Anyways please criticize, but don't be to harsh. Like i said this is my first time blogging. please go follow my instagram: pumpsandpiercings and don't forget to keep looking for my posts. I promise these blog posts can only get better.
